The Magic Number for Your Keyboard Success

Are You Looking for a Magical Solution?

Are you struggling with trying to figure out how to play well?

Are you feeling overwhelmed by so much to practice, so little time?

Are you looking for a way to know what to practice so that you will improve quickly?

An adult student named Liz told me that she finds that she can’t decide what to practice because there are too many choices.

Sue often complains that although she’s learned many songs, she can no longer play them.

She’s frustrated because she loves practicing her new pieces every day, and wishes she could pick up something from the past and just play it.

Has this happened to you?

It’s Not Rocket Science

When the young man asks, “How do I get to Carnegie Hall?”

the elderly New Yorker responds, “Practice, practice, practice.”

Notice that the word practice is stated three times.

It takes 3 weeks to establish a good habit, but only 3 days to lose it.

Every time you focus on one specific musical goal for 21 straight days, you will establish a new keyboard success habit.

Establishing Your Keyboard Success Habit

Here are the three things you need to do to establish your keyboard success habit.

1. Make a choice

Success does not come from practicing all of your songs, exercises and/or classical pieces all the time. There simply aren’t enough hours in the day for this.

In order to get great results, you need to pick one piece that you really like and want to learn to play well. You will still practice your other music, but now you have selected one special piece that you want to master, memorize or both.

2. Focus on your number one priority

You need to practice your selected special piece every single day. Sometimes this will be the only thing you practice. Other days, when more time is available, you can give attention to your other musical material. The most important thing is that you concentrate single-mindedly on your number one priority: to practice your special piece daily.

3. Make a commitment and stick to it

Promise yourself that you will keep your commitment to practicing this one special piece for 21 consecutive days, just three weeks. You will amaze yourself when you hear how much better you sound. Your confidence will improve too!

Action Exercises

Here are three steps you can take immediately to put these ideas into action.

First, select one special piece, practice it every single day for three weeks. All of your other music can receive your attention after you focus on your number one priority.

Second, remember that once you see the great results of your efforts, you’ll be so excited that you’ll repeat this process with another one of your favorite pieces.

Third, take this method up one more notch by practicing your special selected piece every day for three months. Your musical success is guaranteed!

Monk (Season 1) DVD Review

One of the more clever television creations of the new millennium, Monk combines the high-grade suspense of a traditional TV drama with the quirky humor of a big screen comedy. Originally developed for ABC, the show became an instant prime-time lynchpin for the USA network, proving itself one of the more successful shows on cable TV…

In Monk, Tony Shalhoub stars in the title role of Adrian Monk, a former San Francisco detective placed on psychiatric leave. A true legend in the community, Monk solves unsolvable crimes via his towering intellect, photographic memory, and meticulous observations. But the one case that eludes Monk is the 1997 murder of his wife Trudy, which forever altered Monk’s capacity to perform his job. Suffering from severe obsessive-compulsive disorder and a number of odd phobias, Monk requires a personal assistant, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), for even his most basic daily activities. Yet Monk remains a police consultant on difficult cases, and he hopes to persuade Capt. Leland Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) to give him his old job back. But Stottlemeyer and colleague Lt. Randall Disher (Jason Gray-Stanford), harbor doubts about Monk’s mental faculties. As Monk solves cases though, those doubts dissipate and Stottlemeyer and Disher learn to appreciate Monk’s special talents - despite his inability to cope with the day-to-day activities of a normal detective… Nevertheless, he remains a de facto investigator as he and Sharona aid the San Francisco police department in solving numerous high profile cases…

The Monk DVD features a number of hilarious episodes including the season premiere “Mr. Monk and the Candidate” in which the audience first learns the background of Adrian Monk, a modern day Sherlock Holmes beset by mental problems. After Monk solves a mysterious murder simply by looking at the crime scene, Capt. Stottlemeyer enlists him to help in the investigation of a failed assassination attempt of mayoral candidate Warren St. Claire…Other notable episodes from Season 1 include “Mr. Monk and the Billionaire Mugger” in which Monk investigates the death of a billionaire shot while trying to mug a police officer, and “Mr. Monk and the Earthquake” in which Monk investigates the murder of a wealthy businessman (which occurred during an earthquake) while suffering verbal difficulties as a result of the earthquake’s numerous aftershocks…

Dating Advice: Don’t Sabotage a Special Relationship

You’re dating a new guy, and you’re crazy about him. You’re feeling vulnerable, you definitely don’t want to get hurt, so you call a few friends to analyze things he’s said to get their perspective. Is this a good idea?

Not really.

While it’s tempting to give friends an I-said-he-said account of your conversations with a new love, it’s a big mistake. You destroy whatever intimacy that developed. If you want a special relationship, keep it special by keeping it between the two people it involves: Him and you.

(Discount this advice if this man has ever hit you or threatened you in any way. In that case, RUN FOR THE HILLS. Dial 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) for help!).

As for a normal new boyfriend, your friends do not know him any better than you do (unless they’re his sisters, in which case you should definitely keep quiet about him).

Do not invite other people to speculate about your relationship. It’s not their place, and it’s none of their business. Trust yourself to make the right decision about whether or not he is the one for you.

Avoid asking questions like, “Do you think he likes me?” and “What do you think it meant when he…?” Use a man’s actions to gauge his feelings for you. If you don’t understand something he did or said, ask him about it. For instance, “You asked me to meet you at 6:30, but you didn’t show up until 7:15. Was there a lot of traffic?”

See what he has to say for himself. Does he seem genuinely sorry, or does he pull the same stunt the next time? Respond accordingly.

Acknowledge your own feelings, always: Do you feel good around him? Confident? Attractive? Or do you feel insecure? Stupid? Fat and ugly? You know how you feel around someone who likes you, so seek your own counsel.

When you discuss your relationship with other people, you cheapen it. You undermine it, too, because you’ve made it subject to others’ opinions. You’ve raised the stakes because if the relationship tanks, you might as well have taken out an ad in the New York Times.

Give your new relationship the dignity it deserves and keep it to yourself. Offer it care and attention. Trust yourself to let it develop as it should. If it’s meant to be, you’ll know it.

If it’s not, you’ll know it,too.

New Ideas For Our Intelligent House

“He’s calling within the house!”- This thrilling warning resounds in the recent movie “When the stranger calls” that threatens most of our audiences. You surely still remember most scenes of the film take place within a very modern house that is nowadays called “intelligent house”. After 2-hour watching this thrilling film, I’ve just flashed some new ideas of an intelligent house for myself even though I don’t know when I can carry out my dream as I’m not a millionaire.

The model “intelligent house” appeared in the world long time ago. It has been developed as a computer-based house or we can understand that this kind of house is fulfilled with computerized gadgets such as audiovisual system, security sensors, automatic talking servant, etc.

If I can build up my intelligent house someday, you can imagine it as my following description. When somebody presses my door bell, they can hear the greeting “Hello Tom”, “Hi Jenny”, “Morning Babe” or “Good afternoon, Sir” upon exactly their name. This performance is run due to the memory system of a computer. I can ask for help of a Voice Changer Software to create many cool greeting voices to surprise my friends and guests every special occasion such as ghost voice for Halloween, sweet voice for Valentine, holly voice for Christmas, etc.

Then, coming to the house, you are guided by automatic talking servants. This voice shows you where to have some drink, where to find a book, how to play a film or even where the toilet is. This house can be considered as a relaxed place for all of my friends and family on weekend. There will be also a children room where my kids can listen many legends with various storytellers’ voices. All of those teller and servant voices are also created only with voice changer software.

If somebody is in stress, my house is also an ideal place to balance their bodies, soul and spirit. You can find a convenient gymnasium to exercise. You can have nourishing cuisine to top up your energy. When you soak into a spa bathtub, the peaceful melody of spa music will play to make your mind at ease. You can refresh and update your spa music library by using music editor software to create your own music collection. If there is a party, my house can make a quick change for everybody to enjoy the most joyful moments compared to wherever else. The party will be very enjoyable with delicious music festivals. I also can apply music editor software to satisfy my needs such as AV Music Morpher Gold or DJ program.

After a hard working day or a noisy party, all I have to do is freely hitting the bed and all the lights of my bedroom will be automatically switched off. The next morning will begin with my favorite songs and the sweet alarm voice.
