Affordable Classic Volkswagen

After the big success of the Volkswagen Beetle in the 1960s, the German automaker has resurrected the idea of an on-and off-road car and christened it the Type 181 Thing . The thing was inspired by the World War II Type 82 K belwagen and was updated using the Beetle baseline engine and running gear but this time with a beefier Transporter/Microbus suspension.
Also along the lines of the K belwagen was its Dumpsteresque yet practical styling. Its simple doors and standard soft top is easy to remove while its windshield can be folded flat. The rear-engine, rear-wheel drive car was rugged and well suited for worst conditioned roads.
The Thing was first built in 1969 and was offered in the US until 1973. It is powered by a standard Beetle 1584-cc air-cooled flat four-cylinder engine with 46 chirping horsepower, and coupled to a four-speed manual transmission. Its first year in the US, the Thing was offered in Blizzard White, Sunshine Yellows and Pumpkin Orange.
By the year 1974, the Thing got a slight boost in power from 46bhp to 55 bhp. Other improvements are notable from its side scoops instead of flush slotted vents in the rear quarter panels. The most desired trim package was called the Acapulco , and featured a bikini top and blue-and-white striped vinyl seats. The option list includes a fiberglass hard top with solid door windows, luggage racks, air conditioning and a padded roll cage. US sales were discontinued after 1974, while sales in Mexico continued until 1978.
The Thing has a small but faithful legion of followers. One problem encountered with the Thing is in terms of its Panels. Its uni-body seems to be the most difficult part to track down since rustk bels are rare. Likewise, poor insulation which led to snow-country interior temperatures reminiscent of the Shackleton expedition s igloos, kept many of them off salty winter roads.
Volkswagen s Thing is not all that bad; its extreme commonality of functional parts like for example its Volkswagen brake caliper, with Beetle adds up to its quality as a vehicle. Aside from parts it also shares some Bug s qualities such as air-cooled reliability and ease of repair parts and parcel makes it the stepchild of one of the best selling cars in the world. In the Southwestern states, it is very easy and convenient to rebuild an engine all one has to do is to walk along the side of any road for about ten miles, gather some parts and viola! one engine ready to go.
The growing craze over the New Beetle has somewhat affected the Thing prices. But that didn t completely diminish the interest of the public in various oddball cars of the 70 s like for example Gremlins, Pacers, etc. as a fact it has even helped boost the Thing price. Quality Things are available in prices ranging from $2,600 to $4,800. As a gauge of the lower end of the market, a non-running 4 1974 Thing with hard top but no title was recently sold at a Midwest estate auction for $1,600. The pricing of the Thing may increase in the future but not that high. Regardless, in an era of $25,000 Fiat Jollys, the Thing is still one of the best and economical ways of cruising the beach. It forms the core of the Volkswagen Group and ranked fourth as world s largest car producer after GM, Toyota and Ford. Volkswagen means peoples car in German. Its German tagline is “Aus Liebe zum Automobil” which when translated means “For the love of the car” - or, “For Love of the People s Cars”.
For the 20th century, Volkswagen is considered an icon due mainly to its expertise in creating legendary cars. The German automaker s The beetle is considered to be the best-selling car of all time. And that s not all even its Volkswagen bus was considered a symbol of a generation. Volkswagen s Golf is deemed by many as a modern masterpiece. Only very few car manufacturers can parallel such remarkable creations of the largest German automaker.
Volkswagen was born in an era considered to be the period for the privilege few and it is for this reason that Ferdinand Porsche founder of Volkswagen has conceived the idea of creating a people s car. His main objective is to provide a great number of Germans with a reliable transport at prices that are within their reach.
The Beetle which is a favorite car of all times was produced in the year 1948 together with other 25,000 vehicles. But during that time only two Beetles were produced and were shipped to the USA. A year later another remarkable coupe the Karmann convertible was produced which became the world s best-selling convertible. To cut the story short, Volkswagen from an auto company grows to becoming a world corporation building factories and working communities in countries like Brazil, United States and Canada. The German automaker has also made working communities in major centres in Western Europe.
In the alst fifteen years of the millennium Volkswagen has surfaced as a true global force in the auto industry especially when it acquired famous names such as Audi, SEAT, Skoda, and Lamborghini.

Don t be fooled by the hype- it s just a sales pitch, find the facts! Over-priced programs such as

After deciding to further my affiliate marketing interest and invest in an affiliate Program consisting of online marketing software and their resell rights, I took a look at THE SECRET SGR PROGRAM.
The reason I looked at The Secret SGR first, before any other program such as Perfect Wealth, Passport To Wealth or road map to riches, which are also all ready-made affiliate websites, with affiliate software packages and re-sell rights included, was because I had seen the movie, The Secret . Before any research, I suspected that putting my trust and dollars into a brand such as, The Secret must be a safe bet . I assumed that the SGR program would be an honest program. I mean- look at what the creators of the movie and SGR preach! Not to mention the fact that, The Secret brand had been endorsed by Oprah Winfrey and seemingly extremely genuine well-respected creators who appeared in the movie itself.
The market value for other competing packages (noted above), ultimately exact to what SGR offers (and there are many) is around the US $1, 000 mark. I momentarily ignored the seemingly excessively inflated price of US $2, 500, for the SGR, assuming I had yet to understand the complete content of the package. My thinking- it would simply be impossible for the makers of the The Secret , to globally preach the message of the film- and then create an affiliate program that was over-priced? It would be just too hypocritical? I figured if they were over charging, or if it wasn t 100% scam free, 100% profitable, or 100% effective in delivering ALL the promises- then the makers of the Secret would have to face global humiliation and prosecution, on the same scale that they previously received famed praise!
I assumed this must be reason enough, to be completely satisfied, that the SGR creators would go to infallible measures to make sure the SGR, package was worth the $2,500! Also, the commanding marketing strategies the SGR Program website used, to captivate my attention, initially persuaded the trusting part of my mind to believe that this program would teach me something about internet-marketing that NOONE else knew. (???Something of a secret??) continue
I was certain there must be a, hidden feature I had missed amongst the hype, that would warrant an investment of an extra One and a Half Thousand US Dollars-above competitive program prices.(Like the latest top-secret website optimization program, invented by N.A.S.A or the C.I.A!!!!). To my surprise, there was no, amazing website promotion tool included in the package- guaranteed to drive secret traffic to this expensive site they wanted me to buy. I was simply expected to pay for the brand name.
As I said in the beginning, the only reason I looked at the SGR first, is that I knew of the movie, The Secret , and knew the brand held an average amount of global credibility. So the question to ask myself, then was- is it worth paying an extra $1,500 for the potential sales I might make from this credibility? The answer is NO!!!
SGR does not have more or less people investing in it than any of the other competing programs, and so your chances are not increased at all. The reason for it is this. When the majority of people make a $2,500 investment into an online Program, they are risking enough money to, check out , its reviews on the net. This is not difficult to do- type in the word, affiliate , and you will have a LOT of different programs to compare.
It is when compared, the SGR will always fall short. The best thing about the competitors of SGR was that most of these packages as well as being around only the $1, 000 range. Even better, on resell, you generate 100% commission on each of your own $1, 000 sales. This, rather than the $500 I would have earned on each $2,500 sale I made, once invested in SGR. This makes SGR look ridiculous- 20% commission rate, compared to competitors 100%!
It is logically the better option. You can join many of the, generally well-known programs , 1. For less than half the cost of the SGR program. 2. Sell your customers the package for less than half as much as the SGR product. 3.Make double the commission sum than you would from an SGR sale. continue Not to mention, after a little more, browsing online, I found many of the competitive packages offered even better software, and more advanced website, packages and training, than the Secret SGR.
Any, edge that the credibility of, The Secret brand, may hold over competitors, is immediately negated by the even bigger, EDGE , competitors hold over SGR in comparison, regarding the doubled commission payments, cheaper package, better software and training. Anyone who can read can work out the better in half an hour.
I must be honest, there is something you don t get in alternate programs and that is the motivational The Secret , mantra-style audiotapes and DVDs , the leather briefcase or the MP3 player. However, my advice, would be to invest in a program OTHER than the SGR and with the $1,500 saving… Go to your nearest department store. They re sure to have a good deal on some motivational tapes and DVDs from the makers of the Secret, an MP3 player and a crappy briefcase. Should set you back about $150, if that!!!!
Under all the hype the SGR Program is actually just a package of AVERAGE affiliate marketing software, their resell rights, and a website to sell them from. Also, The Secret -themed, motivational and instructional material. An MP3 player. And a briefcase.
If there is anything I can offer, it is please do your research before you invest in an affiliate Program. Finally, after about two months of research, I decided to invest in Passport To Wealth . The reason being, I felt it had the best range of software on offer. Also, I felt that the movie presentation explaining the program within the website was the most straightforward, of all competing programs, for prospects to grasp- amongst other other benefits.
If you read anywhere adds like, “This program—-doesn t work!!!….Try this one—-!!!”, Chances are they are it is only hype with no evidence to back the claim up. I think that all of the, generally well-known affiliate programs , like the ones in this article work . The difference with the programs is that some will make it easier for you to learn how to work them. This is why choosing the right one is important. Passport To Wealth has worked really well for me, but only because I knew HOW TO WORK IT.
